In Portland Oregon’s application for the National Institute of Standards and Technology(NIST) Replicable Smart City Technologies (RSCT) grant, they focused on more than cutting edge technology. Keeping inline with the sustainable values of their community, the worked with Portland non-profit Green Electronics Council (GEC), to look for ways to reduce waist in their “Smart City” initiative.
